在 SpaceX,他另有两套方案:其一为 10 亿股(1 billion shares)的「SpaceX CEO award」,最高对应 7.5 兆美元(US$7.5 trillion)市值与火星 100 万居民(1 million inhabitants)殖民条件,价值可逾 6,000 亿美元(US$600 billion);其二为约 3 亿股(300 million shares)的「AI CEO award」,要求非地球资料中心每年可提供 100 太瓦(100 TW,约 1×10^14 W)算力,峰值可逾 1,600 亿美元(US$160 billion)。

SpaceX’s filing this week exposed the core numbers: if it lists at a US$2 trillion valuation, 62-year-old President and COO Gwynne Shotwell’s stake would be worth about US$2 billion, implying roughly 0.1% ownership. Her base salary is about US$1 million; last year total compensation was nearly US$86 million, mostly from a one-time October option grant; excluding that, her long-term incentive target is US$5 million per year.

By contrast, Elon Musk’s incentives are orders of magnitude larger. Tesla’s latest proxy valued his package at US$132 billion and, if financial, market-cap, and operating hurdles are met, roughly US$1 trillion. At SpaceX, he has two more plans: a 1 billion-share “SpaceX CEO award” tied to milestones up to a US$7.5 trillion valuation plus a Mars colony with 1 million inhabitants, worth over US$600 billion at the top; and an approximately 300 million-share “AI CEO award” requiring non-Earth data centers delivering 100 terawatts (about 1×10^14 watts) of compute per year, worth over US$160 billion at peak milestones.

The piece argues these targets are extremely remote, even near-impossible, yet full vesting could give Musk more than US$1.75 trillion across SpaceX and Tesla. At Shotwell’s US$5 million annual long-term incentive pace, matching that scale would take more than 351,000 years. The key governance signal is that achievement determinations are made by a board Musk can appoint through voting control, while SpaceX says it does not plan majority-independent compensation or nominating committees, leaving Musk with unusually high practical influence over his own pay.
