Satellite imagery confirms damage to two Amazon data centers in Bahrain, supporting Iran's claims of conducting missile strikes on these facilities. Independent satellite images from the European Space Agency and reports from conflict monitors have corroborated the attacks on the data centers located in Zallaq and Askar.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that they targeted these data centers because of Amazon's support for US military operations. As militaries increasingly rely on digital technologies and artificial intelligence, data centers have emerged as key strategic targets in warfare alongside traditional command centers and military bases.

Although US and Iranian forces have recently paused their frequent hostilities that lasted for weeks, civilian infrastructure, including sites in Bahrain, has sustained damage. Amazon had previously warned of prolonged service disruptions in the Middle East and advised customers to recover their data from backups stored elsewhere.
