安全性仍是核心限制。Cowork 具备读取、写入和永久删除文件的能力，因此存在提示注入等风险。Anthropic 通过虚拟机隔离、文件夹级权限控制和多次用户确认来降低风险，并明确警告避免暴露财务或凭证数据。当前版本仍会在批量操作中出现失误，但在文件密集型与低风险任务上，其成功率已明显高于同类产品，显示出 AI 代理在实用性上的阶段性突破。
Anthropic has released Claude Cowork, an AI agent offered as a research preview to subscribers of its $100-per-month plan, aimed at nontechnical users handling file management and basic computing tasks. In contrast to many earlier “agentic” tools that struggled with simple actions, Cowork performed reliably in tests, completing file organization, format conversion, report generation, and authorized browser or email tasks. The tool is currently limited to macOS and requires an active internet connection.
Cowork builds on the developer-focused Claude Code but lowers the barrier through a more approachable interface. Its lead developer said multiple form factors were tested to reach users unwilling to use a command line, and that all code has been written with AI over the past two months. In practice, Cowork sorted desktop files into monthly folders in about one minute and, after permission was granted, deleted roughly 1,000 unread promotional emails. More complex tasks, such as finding evening movie showtimes and adding events to a calendar, worked, though any payment steps were intentionally blocked.
Security remains the main constraint. Because Cowork can read, write, and permanently delete files, it is vulnerable to prompt-injection risks. Anthropic mitigates this through virtualization, folder-level access controls, and repeated user confirmations, while advising against exposing sensitive financial or credential data. Errors can still occur in batch operations, but for file-heavy, low-risk workflows, Cowork shows a markedly higher success rate than prior agents, suggesting a meaningful step forward in practical AI assistants.
