"Spider-Man: Brand New Day," starring Tom Holland, set a box office record with $355 million in its North American opening weekend, plus $572 million internationally, making it the highest-grossing opening of the year and the second-highest in Hollywood history.

The film abandons the multiverse theme common in previous Marvel works, instead telling the story of an isolated man torn between his duty to serve the city and his desire for personal connection, a plot that deeply resonated with audiences.

Scoring 90% with critics and 98% with regular viewers, the picture's remarkable box office performance not only proves audiences' hunger for deeply human stories but also further boosts the overall revenue of cinema chains this summer.
