Christopher Nolan's film *The Odyssey* has generated enormous buzz, and its ubiquitous press tour is driving extraordinary sales of Homer's epic poem. Emily Wilson's acclaimed 2017 translation, which influenced Nolan's adaptation, is reaping significant benefits. According to publisher W. W. Norton & Company, the paperback edition alone sold 40% more copies in North America in just the first six months of this year than in all of last year. Across all formats, domestic sales have now surpassed one million copies since the book's initial release.

On Bookshop.org, an online retailer partnering with independent bookstores, the *Odyssey* became the second-bestselling book during the week of the July 17 movie release. Sales of all editions, including Wilson's, surged 1,420% compared to the same week last year, according to founder and CEO Andy Hunter. Bookshop's Instagram page is actively capitalizing on the cultural moment, posting a video matching the film cast's red carpet looks with iconic *Odyssey* covers—Elliot Page's brown suit paired with Samuel Butler's Chartwell Deluxe Edition, and Tom Holland's black suit subtly echoing Daniel Mendelsohn's 560-page University of Chicago Press paperback.

At Rakestraw Books in Danville, California, owner and general manager Michael Barnard reported selling 40 copies of Wilson's *Odyssey* over the past 12 weeks, compared to just six last year. Sales accelerated after Zendaya, who plays Athena in the film, visited the store and posed with Wilson's translation. The store's "Greek and Roman" display, featuring works by Madeline Miller and other *Odyssey* translations, is also selling well. Publishing strategist Kathleen Schmidt noted that a splashy Hollywood release can inspire even readers intimidated by classic literature to purchase the book, though whether they finish it remains a different question.
