Similar to Spielberg's 1977 classic "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "E.T.", this film is fundamentally a parable of human communication and empathy. The aliens represent the struggle to forge connections in a skeptical world, offering an intergalactic perspective to quiet human squabbles.
