New York City reports faster travel for buses and taxis after one year of congestion pricing south of 60th Street in Manhattan. Most passenger vehicles pay $9 at peak hours (trucks pay more by size). The MTA says traffic is down about 11%, and the governor cited roughly 27 million fewer vehicle trips into the tolled area.

According to the Regional Plan Association, taxis traveling to or from the zone averaged 7.3 mph from January–October 2025, a 1.4% increase versus the same period in 2024, reversing declines seen since 2021. Bus riders also saw gains: local, limited, Select, and express services were a combined 3% faster in the tolled zone as of November 2025.

The report also notes tunnel traffic into the zone fell 3.1%. In the first 10 months of 2025, bridge and tunnel crossings into the zone were 100% of 2019 volumes, down from 103.6% in 2024. The MTA reports weekday-morning inbound speeds in the Holland Tunnel rose 51% from January–October 2025 versus 2024. Net revenue is projected at $548.3 million in 2025 for signal upgrades dating to the 1930s, added station elevators, and a Second Avenue Subway extension to Harlem.
