The company said it is the first robot vacuum with a dual wheel-leg design, enabling sudden stops, small turns, and step climbing, highlighting efforts to market home robots to everyday consumers.

The Saros Rover appeared at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. At the previous year’s CES, Roborock drew attention with the Saros Z70, a robotic vacuum equipped with a mechanical arm, but the product received lukewarm reviews after launching in the US a few months later at a price of $2,599. Criticism focused on the high cost and limited object recognition, restricted to a small set of items such as tissues, paper, and slippers. The Rover represents a different approach, and no launch date has been confirmed.

The Rover navigates using artificial intelligence, multiple motion sensors, and 3D spatial data. In a media demonstration, it climbed stairs, descended a ramp, and performed a small jump, a maneuver intended for descending steps or bypassing obstacles. However, like the Z70, it moved noticeably slower when elevated on its legs than conventional low-profile robot vacuums, and battery life was not disclosed. As CES expands robotics exhibits, the trend shows that despite growing numbers of demonstrations, high costs, mobility limits, and battery performance remain major barriers to mass adoption.
