She says bringing beauty to a front-line town associated with death and destruction is worth the risk.

Demand is high: on the day called she saw 11 patients, all but one military (10/11 ≈ 91%), and some days see up to 20. Common treatments are Botox injections to smooth lines, dermal fillers for volume and cell therapy against hair loss. A majority of clients are female but many men come too; premature hair loss is a major concern.

Patients treat the clinic as respite and therapy: 40-year-old supply sergeant Daria, who was dodging glide-bombs hours earlier and divorced three months ago, said she would rather be "beautiful" if she dies. Tania, in her 20s, lost her husband and home in Luhansk and joined the army in July 2022. Three and a half years into full-scale war, the clinic offers brief relief but faces increasing danger from extended-range drones, ambushes and blocked roads that force week-to-week planning.
