为了解决这一挑战并抓住机遇,中国必须克服数位鸿沟等令外国游客却步的实际不便,包括繁琐的签证申请以及难以使用中国本土的行动支付与线上服务。

Despite post-pandemic government efforts to promote inbound travel, China remains underrepresented in international tourism, failing to make the list of the top ten most-visited countries last year.

Driven by Gen Z popular culture and social media, a recent surge in overseas visitor interest has provided Beijing with a prime opportunity to enhance its international image and boost tourism.

To seize this opportunity, China needs to address the digital divide and other practical hurdles that intimidate potential visitors, such as navigating local online services and obtaining visas.
