US-listed ETFs have absorbed about $1 trillion this year, reaching the milestone before the end of June, and the current pace of inflows is set to easily break last year's record of $1.5 trillion.

The inflows were primarily led by equity-focused funds, with Vanguard's S&P 500 ETF (VOO) standing out by attracting roughly $110 billion this year and becoming the first ETF to cross the $1 trillion asset threshold.

In addition to the massive volume of inflows, the ETF industry is on track for a record number of new funds, with over 600 products launched this year, including Roundhill's DRAM fund focusing on global memory-chip companies, which has gathered more than $15 billion since its April debut.
