According to the latest industry data, Chinese humanoid robot makers commanded over 97% of global shipments in the first half of 2026, with total global shipments reaching approximately 19,100 units. Shanghai-based Agibot overtook Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics to claim the top spot, capturing a 44% market share with 8,400 units shipped.
The shipment volumes of these Chinese companies completely dwarf those of top US firms such as Tesla, Figure AI, and Agility Robotics, underscoring the rapid pace of development in China. Despite this growth, the US banned imports of new Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots and certain components in late July, citing national security risks.
China's policy support and government funding are accelerating the mainstream adoption of humanoid robots. Furthermore, industrial and commercial applications now account for more than 70% of total shipments, up from about 50% a year earlier, indicating a significant shift in how these robots are being utilized.
