Astronomers warn of a potential scenario where approximately 1,000,000 data center spacecraft and tens of thousands of space mirrors are launched into Earth's orbit. This massive deployment is proposed to accommodate the growing demand for data centers, requiring these spacecraft to be stacked tightly above one another in orbit along the day-night boundary.
This densely packed formation of satellites would traverse the night sky for several hours immediately after dusk and just before dawn. Because the spacecraft would orbit in a single continuous plane, traveling in the exact same direction and in close proximity, they would create a highly visible artificial structure resembling Saturn's ring.
The visual impact of this artificial ring would be catastrophic, as it would outshine 100% of visible stars and planets. According to Professor Hugh Lewis, this luminous band would appear significantly brighter than the full moon, making it clearly visible from every geographic location on Earth during its transit.
