这两家公司的做法源于安全叙事，因为 Mythos 被称为善于发现网络安全漏洞，而 Anthropic 也表示公开版本会降低其攻击能力。Mythos 的发布同样引起政策层高度关注：美国财政部长 Scott Bessent 与美联储主席 Jerome Powell 随后召集了美国最大银行讨论 AI 带来的网络安全风险。

Both firms framed these staged releases as safety measures because Mythos is marketed as highly effective at finding security vulnerabilities and Anthropic said public access would come with reduced offensive power, but the policy response was significant: after the revelation, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell convened the country’s largest banks over AI cyber risk.
The third force is compute scarcity: despite heavy data-center spending, demand keeps rising and each new frontier model consumes more power, so Anthropic has capped Claude during peak periods and shifted enterprise pricing to usage-based billing; Mythos is priced at five times Anthropic’s public Opus 4.6 rate, indicating much higher infrastructure cost per query. Restricting access also reduces customer portability across models and can push adoption toward each vendor’s own tools, making tighter control over who can use advanced systems both a practical necessity and an emerging industry norm.
