7家贷款方中有5家法国机构,其中包括BNP Paribas(近期与Mistral扩展了合作)。

Mistral AI, the French startup, raised its first debt financing of $830 million for a data center project outside Paris in Bruyères-le-Châtel. The financing is for purchasing and installing up to 13,800 Nvidia chips. Five of the seven lenders are French, including BNP Paribas, which recently expanded its partnership with Mistral. No U.S. banks participated; the financing was also supported by Bpifrance, Crédit Agricole, HSBC, La Banque Postale, MUFG, and Natixis CIB. The deal shows continued expansion in AI and data-center debt financing, while Europe still trails the U.S. pace of data-center buildout.

Mistral is a large language model vendor behind Le Chat. After a €2 billion equity round in September, it was valued at €12 billion (about US$14 billion). Founded in 2023 by Arthur Mensch, Timothée Lacroix, and Guillaume Lample, the company said its French site should start operations in Q2 2026, with new Nvidia chips initially providing 44 megawatts (MW) of capacity. It plans to reach 200 MW across sites in Europe by the end of 2027 and announced a second data-center investment in Sweden in February.

The European financing context is notable: EdgeConneX earlier announced a €707.5 million asset-backed securitization tied to Amsterdam facilities, while OpenAI and Anthropic have announced much larger U.S. AI infrastructure commitments, including Anthropic’s $50 billion pledge. Compared with those plans, Mistral’s 44 MW is small, but the financing reflects increased European emphasis on AI infrastructure that is less dependent on U.S. suppliers amid heightened tensions with Washington.
