According to people familiar with the matter, Apple is planning a glass-centric redesign for the iPhone Pro next year to mark the device's 20th anniversary. The new models will feature glass on both the front and back that curves into the sides with a metal band in the middle, refuting a recent analyst report claiming the all-glass design was canceled.

While an early aspirational version made entirely of glass without metal was scrapped due to challenges in mass-producing the glass connections, Apple's product roadmap remains unchanged. The company still expects to make a significant impact next year by evolving this innovative original idea.
